This may not seem like much of a fact. After all, it’s not something new. We all know Israel was founded just three years after WWII. But take a moment to think about what that means.

Three years after the Holocaust, Israel was formed on its UN mandated portion of land. Three years after the liberation of the death camps, the countries around Israel warned the Jews in that region not to call the land they already lived on a country. Three years after Nazi Germans perpetrated an industrialized genocide with the aim to exterminate all of the Jews, the countries surrounding Israel immediately attacked to exterminate all the Jews, and the world waited to see what would happen.

It sure feels like the Jews are granted no peace.

A reminder: Deligitimizing Jewish or Palestinian connections to the homeland is a bad look. Peace is the right look. Let’s focus on that.
